Silhouettes
There is a long history of silhouette art in the world of folk traditions—simple yet powerful shapes that tell stories through shadow and form. In my work, I explore the intersection of this tradition with the language of minimalist painting. I’m drawn to the quiet tension between the two: one rooted in storytelling and cultural history, the other in restraint, reduction, and presence. By bringing these worlds together, I’m interested in how they echo one another—how a silhouette, like minimalism, can reveal the subtle nuances of life through what is left unsaid.
